Family & Friends,
I managed to tag along on a refreshing getaway from monotonous quarantine life for a long weekend. The occasion was to celebrate my kickass bro-in-law, Jeffy's, birthday and we stayed in his family's log cabin in South Lake Tahoe. Literally, it's a cabin made out of logs.
It only took three hours to drive each way because there was no traffic in this apocalyptic world. For some reason, every time I hit the road for a road trip, my car gets low tire pressure. But, whatever.
We mostly took it easy on this trip because of a duo of curious, busy toddlers (including my niece, Baby Charlie). I babysat for one day and we kept entertained as any mountain baby would: we dawdled in the dirt, collected pine cones, and played a game that I call, "stroller coaster."
We made it to the beach a few times and even to a waterfall! Muddy The Adventure Dog and I traversed some rocks to play in the waterfall, of course.
Other highlights include me busting my knee after eating shit while trail running, and me consistently missing all early morning bear sightings. Still, I can't complain; it was the perfect break from navigating the germ-dodging reality of today.
Check out some photos and a video below. Since I can't do much traveling right now (I had to cancel three trips this year, including one to Europe), I decided to work on "re-branding" my travel videos. So, below is the first attempt at that. Feel free to provide feedback, but I probably won't pay any consideration to it, to be honest.
Onward,
Chris
