As I wrote in my previous blog entry about Roswell, the long-ass drive there from San Antonio was a real trip, although I did not get abducted by aliens.
I was not there long, but the town of Roswell itself is very small and Friday Night Lights-like. The whole UFO crash landing has become the centerpiece to the town and its renown, spurring alien effigies everywhere downtown (even some of the speed limit signs are written in "UFO" typeface).
I went to the UFO Museum, of course, and I have mixed feelings about it. It's not very well organized, but I found it highly entertaining, especially the robotic UFO and extraterrestrials that come alive every hour or so.
After the museum, I walked over to check out the Space Walk. So, the "Space Walk" is basically just a twenty-foot tunnel of blacklights and neon outer space dioramas. Was it worth the $2? Eh, it's only two bucks. And it's delightfully ridiculous.
That's all I did in Roswell. That's all there is to do in Roswell. Off to Colorado (by way of Santa Fe).
Onward,
Chris
